Finding a Job in Times of Recession is a Tough Job anyways...........

More frustrating can be sending out Resumes to Potential employers (for a Job that appears like a perfect fit) and not receiving a single response!

Have you ever wondered   ????/?

Why is it that 90% of Job Seekers never receive a response from Jobs they apply to?

Why is it that only 10% of people applying for Jobs always get a response?

No matter what Job they apply to...........

Let me tell you my story.....................

For the past 8 years I have been associated with the Staffing Industry in Canada as a Consultant dealing with Hiring Managers on one hand and Candidates applying for Jobs on the other.

On an average I receive at least 200 - 300 resumes for every position we advertise on our website, job boards, trade magazines, etc.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU AS A JOB APPLICANT?

It simply means that your Resume is one amongst 200 - 300 resumes fighting for my attention. Your resume needs to grab my attention in the first 10 - 15 seconds........

Do you understand the repurcussions?

In case your Resume is the standard run-of-the-mill resume, it will go in the LATER pile or NA pile.

So what is the basic mandate or objective of a Resume?

A Resume should be able to get me a Call for an Interview. That is it! Your resume cannot get you a job, no matter how good it may be.

REQUEST: Please do not go out and pay a Professional Resume Writer around $300 - $500 to write you a Superman Resume. It can only get you a Call for an Interview, it cannot get you a Job. Hope you understand.

Which further Means that:

  1. Your resume should stand out from the crowd
  2. Your resume should get the attention of the recruiter in the first 10 secs
  3. Your resume should evoke the interest of the recruiter, such that they want to meet you in person
  4. Your resume should stimulate the recruiters interest in your profile
  5. Your Resume should offer a lot more value than just skill sets

By now you probably understand that I know what I am talking about. To get to know me better, just type my name Vikki Mungre in your Google Search Bar and you will see the results.
